FAQ

1. Are these pieces handmade?

Yes. Every Eko Chique piece is woven by skilled artisans using traditional looms. From warping to stitching, each stage is done by hand, preserving centuries-old techniques and ensuring that every item carries a unique touch.

2. Where do the fabrics come from?

Our Fugu fabrics are sourced from Northern Ghana, known for its distinctive handwoven strips. Our Kente fabrics come from weaving communities in Ghana’s Ashanti and Volta regions - each region known for its own weaving patterns and cultural meanings.

Many of our fabrics use a mix of natural and commercial dyes. Artisans carefully select and prepare threads to achieve vibrant colors while maintaining durability. Any slight variations in tone are part of the handmade charm.

4. Will the fabric soften over time?

Yes. Fugu and Kente fabrics often feel structured when new, but they naturally soften with over time, without losing their strength or texture.

5. Are the garments unisex?

Yes. Many of our pieces, especially ponchos, scarves, and smocks, are designed to be worn by anyone.

6. Can I wear these for everyday occasions or only for ceremonies?

Both! While Fugu and Kente have deep cultural significance, our modern cuts make them easy to style for casual wear, cultural events, or special occasions. A poncho can elevate a simple outfit, while a scarf can add a touch of heritage to your daily look.

Because every item is handmade, no two pieces are ever exactly alike. You may notice slight variations in weave pattern, thread tension, or color tones - these are not defects but the authentic signatures of the artisans who made them.
